Create a complete illustrated book from a template using guided questions and AI-powered generation.
The Story Builder walks you through creating a book in a few steps. You start by choosing a template, answer questions to shape the story, and Bitbook generates the full book — text and illustrations — based on your inputs.
Each template defines the type of book (children's book, comic, manga, graphic novel), the number of pages, and the structure of the story. You fill in the details.
Templates are pre-built story structures designed for different book types and genres. Each template includes a set of questions, a default art style, and example books you can preview before starting.
Select a template from the creation dashboard to begin.
The template presents a series of questions to shape your story. These vary by template but typically cover the setting, characters, plot direction, and tone.
Questions come in several formats:
Text input — type a free-form answer
Text area — longer descriptions with quick-pick suggestions
Multi-select — choose from predefined options or add your own
All questions are optional. The more detail you provide, the more tailored the output. If you skip a question, the AI fills in reasonable defaults.
For templates that support characters, the Story Builder includes a Personalize step where you select which characters appear in your story.
You can choose from characters you've already created, or skip and let the AI generate characters for you. If a question asks for a character you haven't created yet, you can create one directly from the step.
Characters you select here will be rendered consistently throughout the book using their reference images and descriptions.
Select an art style for the illustrations. Each template comes with a default style, but you can choose from other available styles or create your own.
Styles control the visual look of generated images — colors, line quality, rendering approach, and overall aesthetic.
Before generating the full book, you can preview a sample page to see how your choices come together. Previews take about a minute to generate.
When you're ready, submit to generate the complete book. Generation produces all pages with text and illustrations. Once complete, the book opens in the Book Editor where you can make further adjustments.
The generated book is a starting point. You can edit any page in the Book Editor — change text, regenerate images, add or remove pages, adjust layouts, and place characters or objects. See the Book Editor guide for details.
